My Muffin Meal Planner

MMMP is an inventory-aware meal planner and cookbook designed to help you remember what is already in your kitchen, plan meals around it, and build a smarter shopping list. It works locally, requires no account, and keeps your household information on your device unless you choose to export it.

MMMP 1.0 is available now on the web and Google Play.

The story behind the name.

Hapa Muffin is more than a gamertag. Both halves of the name carry people, friendships, and memories that remain important to me every day.

Why “Hapa”?

Hapa was the pseudonym of a very good friend of mine when I was a teenager. Unfortunately, they passed away. I created a new character in Final Fantasy XI using their name to honor them, and I have kept it ever since.

The name lets me carry their memory forward.

Why “Muffin”?

Muffin came from a friend and our group of friends. When our FFXI Linkshell (our guild) was moving to Final Fantasy XIV 2.0, everyone needed a surname. A group of us thought matching names would be funny, so we all became Muffins.

I still carry those friendships with me every day. Together, the two stories became Hapa Muffin.
IRL, family, and life beyond the screen

I used to be a business professional, locksmith, and detective. Unfortunately, life had other plans and put me on my butt and out of work. Luckily, by then I had found my heart, and she helped me through it.

Mercwithasmirk (not her real name…or is it?) and I are great partners. We put our family first in everything we do. We are parents to three wonderful girls and many pets. We are foster parents and recently finalized the adoption of two of our girls.

We are working on tools that help make our life easier, things we believe could help others, and things we just think are fun.

My current list of “debuffs”

These conditions keep me from returning to an office setting or physical job and limit my activity at home. On good days, I may be able to vacuum or do small chores. On bad days, I can have trouble washing my own hands at the sink.

Gaming history and current PC setup

I have been a gamer since I was first able to get my hands on a controller. My parents owned a Nintendo Entertainment System, and we had a blast playing Super Mario. From then on, I was hooked. I mainly play on PC today, with occasional time on Switch and PlayStation 5.

Living with disability

My disability and how it affects me

My disabilities affect nearly every part of my daily life, but they do not affect every day in the same way. My pain, energy, mobility, breathing, and ability to concentrate can change from one hour to the next.

On a good day, I might spend some time at my computer, run the vacuum, or handle a small chore. Being able to do something once does not mean I can do it reliably, repeatedly, or without needing time to recover afterward. On a bad day, standing at the sink long enough to wash my hands can be difficult.

That unpredictability is one reason I create at a different pace now. I still love gaming, making things, and spending time with this community. I just have to put my health and family first and work within what my body allows.

Why I don’t go live as much anymore

A lot of you have asked when I am going to start going live or making content more often again. Honestly, I would love to. I miss hanging out, talking, gaming, and laughing with everyone like we used to.

Unfortunately, doing that now comes with a serious risk for me.

Because I receive disability benefits and depend on my health insurance, anything I post publicly could potentially be taken out of context. Someone making decisions about my disability could see me sitting in a chair at my computer, talking and playing a game, and decide that I must not be “disabled enough.”

What they would not see is everything it takes for me to be there. They would not see the pain, my physical limitations, the help I need, or how long it may take me to recover afterward. They would not see that my health can change drastically from one day, or even one hour, to the next.

A livestream only shows one small window into my life. Unfortunately, that small window could be used to make assumptions about everything happening outside of it.

Losing my health insurance is a risk I simply cannot take. I need it to manage all of my lovely “debuffs,” and protecting my health and my family has to come first.

Please know that I have not forgotten about any of you. I still love creating things, gaming, and spending time with this community. If I am quieter or less visible than I used to be, it is not because I do not want to be here. I am just trying to protect the care and support that make it possible for me to keep going.

Thank you for understanding, for supporting me and my family, and for still wanting to spend time with me. It truly means more than I can say. ♥

Games, family, and creative projects

Still a gamer. Still creating.

Some current games I am enjoying include Final Fantasy XI, Path of Exile, Honkai: Star Rail, Warframe, and Raid: Shadow Legends, and the list keeps growing. I may create at a different pace now, but the community and the joy of making things are still here.
